Description
We found this handsome Bull Elk out in the middle of the Madison River in Yellowstone National Park during late Winter, already free-flowing in February during a very quick transition into an early Spring. Elk often use the waterways to escape from predators who prefer to stay dry rather than chase their prey, especially when temps are below freezing - but it was so warm that day, this Elk was more likely just enjoying the pristine water on a VERY non-typical sunshiny day.
